Startup Funding Club announced last Monday the launch of the SFC Angel Fund at the first SFC Pitching & Networking event of the 2017/2018 season. The occasion, sponsored by SFC Bennett Brooks, took place at Runway East Moorgate and gathered a crowd of investors interested in early-stage investment.
The evening kicked off with an introduction from Stephen Page, Startup Funding Club’s founder and CEO. Following this, the company’s Investment Manager – Joseph Zipfel – announced the launch of the SFC Angel Fund. This latest edition of SFC’s SEIS/EIS Fund will allow qualified investors to get exposure to the very best of Startup Funding Club’s dealflow. In addition to acquiring a highly diversified portfolio of 15-20 companies, investors in the fund will also be able to co-invest with SFC’s award-winning network of 300+ angel investors.
After the news, four promising early-stage companies presented their projects:
Shoppar – the company uses computer vision to capture customer engagement in-store and provide them with a targeted brand experience.
Extremis Technology – a company that provides innovative shelters for disaster relief and economic development purposes.
Nourish’d – their team of nutritionists and creative recipe designers create ever changing daily menus that help businesses fuel their staff with productivity boosting food.
Torsion IS – their technology controls the risks of insider breaches by automatically ensuring that staff have access to all the information they need, and none to that they don’t.
See you at the next one,
