What are the key risks?
1. You could lose all the money you invest.
Investments made by the SFC Angel Fund SEIS (the “Fund”) will be in shares in early-stage businesses. Investors in these shares often lose 100% of the money they invested, as many early-stage businesses fail.
2. You are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong
Protection from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), in relation to claims against failed regulated firms, does not cover poor investment performance. 3. You won’t get your money back quickly
Even if the businesses the Fund invests your money in are successful, it may take several years to get your money back.
The most likely way to get your money back is if the businesses invested in by the Fund are bought by another business or list their shares on an exchange such as the London Stock Exchange. These events are not common.
4. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket
Putting all your money into a single business or type of investment for example, is risky. Spreading your money across different investments makes you less dependent on any one to do well.
A good rule of thumb is not to invest more than 10% of your money in high-risk investments.

5. The value of your investment can be reduced
The percentage of each investee company that the Fund owns will decrease if the business issues more shares. This could mean that the value of your investment in each investee company reduces, depending on how much the business grows. Most start-up businesses issue multiple rounds of shares.
These new shares could have additional rights that your shares don’t have, such as the right to receive a fixed dividend, which could further reduce your chances of getting a return on your investment.
6. S/EIS tax reliefs are not guaranteed
Whilst it is the Fund's intention to invest mostly in companies qualifying under SEIS legislation, SFC cannot guarantee that all investments will qualify for S/EIS relief (or IHT relief) or, indeed, if they do initially, that they will continue to do so throughout the life of the investment. The tax advantages of investing through the Fund are therefore not guaranteed.

##### Stephen Page
Chief Executive Officer
Initially trained as an accountant, Stephen soon turned to entrepreneurship and started his own software companies. He grew them to over 300 people and led to various exits. Shifting from entrepreneurship to investment, Stephen founded SFC Capital in 2012 and has been its CEO since its inception. He is a founding member of the Company of Entrepreneurs and the recipient of numerous awards on behalf of SFC.
##### Angelika Burawska
Chief Operating Officer
Angelika joined SFC Capital in its early days in 2014 bringing strong business education from top European universities, wide corporate and startup experience, and passion for entrepreneurship. As COO of the company, she overlooks day to day operations, sets up structures and processes, initiates and executes projects important for growth, and brings SFC’s strategy to life.
##### Joseph Zipfel
Chief Investment Officer
Joseph joined SFC Capital in 2014 to manage the execution and syndication of SFC’s investments. Joseph is also in charge of investor relations, managing strategic partnerships, and supporting portfolio companies with their fundraising strategy. He joined from investment banking where he held both corporate finance and global markets roles, most recently at Nomura International.
##### Jason Druker
Chief Commercial Officer
Jason joined SFC Capital in 2022, initially in Portfolio Management. As CCO, he drives commercial growth and business development. He oversees sales strategy, marketing, investor relations, and portfolio management, focussing on value realisation, including fundraising, secondary sales and full exits. Before SFC, Jason held a corporate development role at Britvic PLC and founded his own M&A consultancy. He holds an MBA and is also a qualified corporate lawyer.
##### Marguerite Crossfield
Chief Compliance Officer (SFC CP)
Marguerite has more than twenty years of experience as a Management Accountant in the software industry and has been involved with supporting startups through SFC for more than five. She is in charge of overseeing compliance within SFC And SFC Capital Partners as well as ensuring compliance with laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
##### Ed Prior
Head of Investor Services
Ed joined SFC from the political world where he worked as an election strategist, speechwriter, and in policy development focused on venture capital and innovation. In business, Ed has advised founders and companies at different lifecycle stages on growth strategy, organisational development and equity-based crowdfunding campaigns. Ed is Head of Investor Services at SFC, responsible for Investor Relations, Fundraising and the Angel House.
##### Edward Stevenson
Principal
Edward joined SFC Capital in 2019 after attaining a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Manchester and performing a variety of roles across several organisations. Prior to joining the SFC team, he worked in financial analysis and consulting as well as spending some time at FinTech Startup. Working as a Principal, he is responsible for the screening and selection of the best investment opportunities.
##### Adam Beveridge
Principal
Adam was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug at a very young age, founding entrepreneurship initiatives and clubs when at school, contributing to numerous young enterprise schemes, and graduating with a 1st class honours degree in Business and Enterprise. He has gone on to become a founder, investor, and consultant, leading an internationally scaled Series A startup in the SaaS, Media, and Travel space.
##### Yuriy Yurchuk
Head of Due Diligence
Yuriy has over fourteen years of combined experience in M&A consulting and Financial Due Diligence, having worked as part of PwC's Ukraine and United States FDD teams as well as running his own consulting practice and being a startup founder. Yuriy joined SFC Capital in 2020 to assist with financial analysis, screening, and selection of investment opportunities.
##### Michael Theodosiou
Portfolio Manager
Before joining SFC, Michael worked at Aberdeen Group plc for several years, holding roles across Equity Investments and Alternatives. He holds a degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Hertfordshire and is currently pursuing the CFA designation. Working as a Portfolio Manager at SFC, Michael drives value across portfolio companies and plays a leading investment role in SFC’s EIS Fund.
##### Ricardo Berruti
Investor Services Manager
Prior to joining SFC, Ricardo gained corporate experience at Ernst & Young and the investment banking sector, where he developed his analytical and commercial skills. Ricardo is responsible for nurturing and maintaining relationships with investors throughout their entire SFC journey – from onboarding to providing key updates on their investments and tax relief certificates.
##### Yosra El Hadri
Compliance Executive
Prior to joining SFC, Yosra worked for different companies, including corporates and startups. She has experience within HR and finance departments, where she developed her analytical and business management skills. At SFC, Yosra is responsible for supporting and guiding ARs and startups as well as meeting compliance requirements during the investment process.
##### Niklas Föltz
Marketing & Communications Manager
Niklas joined SFC Capital in 2022 from the UK tech industry. He holds two master’s degrees in Marketing as well as Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has lived in Germany, Brazil, and the US. Niklas has previously worked in the marketing departments of high-profile brands around Europe. At SFC, he is responsible for marketing strategy, content marketing, public relations, and events.
##### Alex Batlle Bosch
Brand Manager
Alex joined SFC Capital in 2016 after graduating from the University of Barcelona and Goldsmith, University of London. She has vast experience in social media management and creative work. Alex is responsible for SFC’s brand strategy and branding activities, including visual asset development and communications with entrepreneurs and investors via digital channels.
##### Jay Desai
Head of Technology
Jay Desai is a seasoned Digital Project Manager and Solutions Architect with expertise in Agile methodologies, full-stack development, and coordinating diverse global teams. He specialises in transforming business goals into prioritised product requirements and delivering high-quality, innovative solutions across industries. Jay holds a degree in Applied Computing from the University of Hertfordshire.
##### Mark Tayler
Director
Mark is a seasoned serial entrepreneur. He co-founded and exited a technology venture and quickly started a new successful company. He also has vast international business experience, having overseen multi-million-pound projects at Fidelity and New Star. Mark has been involved with SFC from the start as an investor and a mentor to portfolio companies. As a Director, he provides ongoing support for SFC’s growth and strategy.
##### Rick Payne
Strategic Advisor
Rick is the founder and corporate finance director of Bennett Brooks, a full-service and long-standing accountancy and management consultancy practice. As a hugely experienced finance professional, Rick is best placed to advise entrepreneurs and businesses on financial planning and fundraising. As a Director of SFC Capital, he provides advice on investment strategy and critical partnerships.
##### Marika Svardstrom
Strategic Advisor
Marika is a seasoned investment professional with over 20 years of experience in the venture capital and growth equity sectors. An active angel investor, she has a proven track record of supporting high-potential companies, including three European unicorns.
